Denys Black is a Sydney-based photographer and videographer who pushes the boundaries of content creation through unique perspectives and creative editing techniques since 2017.

Q & A

How do you edit your photos?

I use Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos, coupled with Adobe Photoshop if I need to tidy up an image. Usually, I use my own presets for every photo I post that you can get here.

How did you get started with photography?

I've always had a passion for photography since my childhood but I never took it seriously as my main job. I studied Business Management in university and picked up photography after I had graduated.

I could feel that office job from 9-5 is not going to work for me and I need something more creative and not attached to one particular place. So, I started hard process of finding myself and after spending a couple of years I got back to my hobby from childhood which was photography, and I finally realised that this is that type of job that I was looking for. After living and exploring Australia for last 7 years, I developed a passion for travel photography which led me to many corners of the earth; from the rice terraces of Bali to the greatest cathedrals of Moscow in Russia and everything in between.

 

What's you favourite countries to travel to?

Indonesia is probably one of my favourite places to travel. This country has some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen. The local food is also amazing and it is still relatively untouched by foreign tourists, making it feel like much more of an adventure.

 

What's on your bucket list?

As Asia has been my playground for the last 2 years, I'm pretty excited to travel to some different parts of the world soon. If I had to pick the places I'm most excited to explore, it would be Africa, USA, Iceland.
